Privacy Policy

Overview

ScriptCat helps creators turn short video ideas into scripts, hooks, captions, shot notes, checklists, and related production materials. This policy explains how the app handles information in the main app experience and in the hosted support form.

Information Stored on Your Device

The main ScriptCat workspace stores app content locally on your device. This may include your creator profile, brand voice settings, script drafts, generated script packages, project status, saved hook options, series plans, shoot checklists, export content, AI consent status, and manually entered performance notes.

You can clear local ScriptCat data from the app Settings screen. Data stored only on your device may also be removed if you delete the app or clear the app's local storage.

AI Script Generation

ScriptCat can work with a private local draft engine. In that mode, no external AI data is sent by the main app experience.

Some builds may be configured to use an external AI script service. When that mode is active, ScriptCat asks for AI data consent before sending brief data. The data may include your video topic, platform, duration, audience, tone, goal, format, call to action, optional context, brand voice details, and avoid-list. The app replaces the creator name with a private token before the request is sent.

You can revoke AI data consent in Settings. External AI generation is disabled unless consent is granted in builds that use that service.

Hosted Content and Support

ScriptCat may retrieve launch configuration from related hosted services and may display hosted web content if configured. The support form on this website does not require an account or sign-in.

If you submit the support form, the request is stored for later review. The stored request may include your selected topic, message, optional name, optional contact details, page URL, referrer, browser or device information, request status, and submission time.

Please do not include passwords, payment details, government ID numbers, health information, or other sensitive personal information in support messages.

Permissions and Third-Party Accounts

The current ScriptCat workspace does not require account sign-in for the main script workflow. It does not connect to social platforms or scrape platform analytics. Performance notes are entered manually by the user.

The current ScriptCat workspace does not request camera, location, photo library, payment, or subscription permissions for the core script workflow.

How Information Is Used

Sharing

ScriptCat does not sell your app content. Local workspace data remains on your device unless you choose to share exported content or a build configured with an external AI service sends brief data after your consent. Support requests are used for support and privacy review.

Children's Privacy

ScriptCat is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child submitted personal information through the support form, use the Support Form to request review or deletion.

Changes

This policy may be updated when ScriptCat changes. The effective date at the top of this page shows when this version took effect.
